Who We Are

A big part of all the excitement of back to school time is the new locker assignment and the opportunity to decorate it.  Although the majority of time the students spend in school is spent in the classroom, the usage of the lockers has grown as more schools restrict students from entering classrooms with their backpacks. Students now use lockers at school as much as they use their closets at home.  They use it for their coats, backpacks, Ipods, binders, textbooks, pens, pencils, lunch, keys and a whole lot more. 

The era of the plain ole metal school lockers with a simple combination lock on the outside, and maybe a Trapper Keeper or other basic school supplies stored in it, has become a thing of the past.  In recent times, more emphasis is being placed on creating a sense of ownership and individuality and students are increasingly adopting the idea of decorating their school lockers and with all the various locker accessories and supplies available for boys and girls, it is a very easy and fun thing to do.  For the students, it gives them the opportunity to show off their creativity amongst their peers.  It also gives them an opportunity to be a nominee for the ‘coolest school locker category in the yearbook.

We all can use a bit of organizing in our lives but for students having order is a necessity.  Having everything neatly arranged is essential but more often than not, things are a complete mess.  As a direct result of not having an organized school locker, students may experience missing and late assignments, lost textbooks and school schedules, and being unprepared for class by not having the correct supplies.

From a parent’s perspective, encouraging your student to decorate their locker and use locker organizers may indirectly help them to see the benefits of having things organized, which in turn, may result in better grades as a whole.
